The Shelter has an unfinished medical unit. There are just two rooms in it. In one room they make soap and antiseptic solution for sanitizing hands and rooms. The second is an examination room. Three times a week, a professional nurse Danas comes to the Shelter to provide children with the simplest help in the treatment of colds, skin diseases and parasitic infestations. She also treats wounds and cuts.
Our fund transfers $ 100 monthly for the medical needs to the Shelter. Money are used to purchase ingredients for the preparation of antiseptics, medicines (antipyretic, antiviral, antibacterial) and vitamins for children.
We want to finish construction of a first-aid post. We need to complete the building and equip two more rooms - a treatment room for vaccinations and injections, and a box for receiving non-residents of the Shelter.
The residents of the Shelter also need more technological and expensive help, including vaccinations and treatment of chronic diseases.
What is it
This is the second activity of our assistance to Shelter. Ideally, we want to open a full-fledged medical center at the basis of the Shelter where representatives of the Masai tribe living in the neighborhood also can receive medical care.
What is it for
More than 130 children and teenagers who previously wandered live in the Shelter on an ongoing basis. Many of them are victims of domestic and sexual violence, juvenile drug addicts and substance abusers with all the ensuing health consequences. In early childhood, the vast majority of these kids went hungry. Many suffered from serious infections and illnesses. Children now need constant medical supervision and qualified assistance.
