Because doctors Dolittle also need help. There are very few of them–Kirill is the second such doctor after the one described by Hugh Lofting.
We know him personally. We went together “on calls” and saw him doing his job. He works in slums and landfill villages on the outskirts of Kitale. Treats tuberculosis and brucellosis, plasters fractures. Retrieves ground flea maggots from children’s bare feet. Nurses emaciated infants and those thrown out as not wanted in the dump back to health. Does his work without fanfare, calmly and professionally. The locals respect the doctor and trust him.
We visited his clinic, know his family, and became aware of his mission. In fact, Dr. Dulittle is sick himself. No, Kuznetsov recovered after typhus, malaria, and brucellosis. But he is terminally ill with Afrika. And the patient needs our help.
Why we help Kirill

Why is it important to help now
Because Covid19 has joined malaria and AIDS. And Kirill needs more protective equipment, medicine, and patience.
Kirill Kuznetsov: “Most of my acquaintances in Kenya have an extremely careless attitude towards the coronavirus pandemic, and it does not bode well.
A curfew has been introduced since Friday. People who are not able to make it home from work by this time are mercilessly beaten with batons. Last night, the man who drove his wife to the hospital was beaten to death for being on the street at an inappropriate time.
Beating people by the police has the opposite effect – demonstrative acts of disobedience. In Eldoret (67 km from us), hundreds of people chanted on the street during a curfew that it makes no difference for them - to die from a virus or starvation. Serious riots are on their way. Lord, have mercy on Kenya.”

The average life expectancy of people in Kenya is 28 years less than in European countries. Adults die from diseases, starvation, and drugs before they reach the age of 50. Every fifth Kenyan child does not live up to 5 years.
